Nkem Nweke is on a mission to build Africa’s future by developing inclusive, accessible and pioneering communities as he believes in an Africa where everyone can be a change maker. He leads Engineering Innovation at the Africa Development Centre (ADC), which is Microsoft’s Engineering team in the region. He formerly worked in several capacities with organizations like Hewlett Packard & Dimension Data. He engages industry leaders and engineering communities in Africa, with the goal to uplift the ecosystem as well as encourage the discovery of local use-cases that can morph into scalable solutions. He supports leaders and those in public sector positions through his interests in idea generation, policy and innovation design, strategic roadmaps and product development, exploring the role of technology, entrepreneurship and development to create inclusive growth and shared economic prosperity for all in Africa.
Nkem has over 15 years of industry expertise in the technology consulting sector and strongly believes that size and scale of challenges faced on the continent requires coordination and disruptive solutions across board which can be accelerated through enabled technology.
Nkem is passionate about development as he is part of two social impact initiatives and in his spare time, he is a mentor and provides training to young people on how to develop problem solving skills using systems thinking & a human centered design (HCD) approach to live purpose driven lives. With a PMP certification from the Project Management Institute, he holds a B.Sc. in Computer Science from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka and MBA in Business Administration/Projects from the University of Manchester, United Kingdom.
