Dr Ogho Okiti is an economist and a business strategy and policy thinker. Dr. Ogho Okiti is one of Africa’s leading global thinkers on business and economic development. He shares daily commentary, contexts, and insights on economic and business developments on national and global issues.

Ogho is the CEO of ThinkBusiness Africa, a business intelligence platform delivering business solutions across data, media, and advisory. His current interests and research are at the intersection of business and development. And he takes pride in reading one book each week.

He recently left as the Managing Director of BusinessDay Media Ltd. where he served for 40 months, leading the transformation of the business on editorial content, digital distribution, and thought leadership conferences. He had previously served as the first Chief Economist and Chair Editorial Board of BusinessDay from 2007 to 2011 before leaving to serve in the office of the Chief Economic Adviser to the President of Nigeria between 2012 and 2015.

One of the highlights of his time in the Presidency was his involvement in the coordination of the secretariat of Nigeria’s hosting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) on Africa in 2014.

Ogho is an economist, and a strategic and policy thinker. He speaks largely on economics, business, markets, leadership and communications. He has penned over 200 articles, reports and analysis on many areas of public policy, including on the economy, fiscal policies, jobs, poverty, unemployment and education over a four-year period.

Over the years, he developed his closest relationship with public policy making and a good section of the other public policy makers, both in Nigeria and internationally. In the role, he developed the critical understanding of the dynamic and integrated nature of policymaking, implementation and evaluation activities.

He received his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Manchester in 2003. His postdoctoral experiences have revolved around research, public policy, public policy commentary and advisory. He spent two years at the UK office for national statistics (ONS) in London, where he worked on the improvements of measures of government output on social security and adult and children’s social services. He left the ONS in July 2007 to join BusinessDay Media Ltd.
