As part of its long term strategic plan for The Africa Youth Conversation, Africa Speakers Group have commenced the process of recruiting Ambassadors across the continent.
Who is an AYC Ambassador?
An AYC Ambassador is a representative of our cause.
It could rightly be seen as a seat reserved for those who are ready to support what we do in any meaningful way. As an AYC Ambassador, one is expected to become or continue to be a youth development and empowerment advocate – championing and supporting the cause in one’s circle of influence.
The Process
We are still at the nomination stage, that is, we are presently identifying and contacting a number of individuals whom we consider fit for the responsibility.
It is important to note that age is not a key consideration for being chosen as an AYC Ambassador, what counts more for us are - one, the value an individual brings to the cause, and; two, the willingness to make sacrifices, no matter how little they may seem, towards achieving a greater common good.
The list of the first cohort is expected to be released before the end of July 2021.
The Idea Behind AYC Ambassador
We believe in the collective-action approach to achieving real change. Every important change that has been made in human history was made possible by a community of believers in the cause at the time. So, our aim is to build a community of believers - Ambassadors - in the cause of youth development; so that through their voices and deeds wherever they may find themselves, we can continue to advance the cause of youths in Africa. It is important that we build sustainability and a sense of coordination in our youth development advocacy strategy.
